Vibrational modes in solution of copolymers

Vibrational modes in solution of copolymers can be detected experimentally by light scattering. Recently , besides the acoustic type of modes , "optical" types (where the frequency is roughly independent ofthe wave number) have also been observed. We propose that this "optical" type is due mainly to a vibration of each polymer core. The coupling between vibrations in neighboring coresis studied using an accurate multiple scattering formalism.
