Greetings, I am part of the Condensed Matter Physics Group of the Physics Department at Iowa State University and Ames Laboratory (a DOE facility). Primarily superconductivity. Specific problems include 1) the study of superconductor-normal metal composites and superconductor semiconductor composites with the goal of developing a science base for microfilamentary composite suitable for large scale magnets, and 2) the study of the motion of isolated vortices in thin films with the goal of developing a science base for pinning forces.
